Painted in multiple layers, the Medley series takes my love of the waterways off in another direction. The resident wildlife of the canals and rivers have always popped up occasionally in my paintings, but in this series they take centre stage.
This series uses a similar palette to my canal scene paintings, but with the lighter tones being more prominent. This results in a much more subtle and quiet atmosphere.
This swan painting is the first of the series.
