A quick round up of what’s coming up for The Art Boat.

I couldn’t resist putting all the B’s in the title but Atherstone and Coventry floating markets are coming up as well as a possible pop up in Alrewas.  So it’s ABC …the rest of the Alphabet will have to wait.  Apologies…It’s the little things that make me smile.

Burton Library

From now (Saturday 18th May) until 25th May you can see my work at Burton Library. A lovely little Artspace that I was delighted to find a couple of years ago.  When I knew that I would be doing Burton-on-Trent Floating Market I decided it was an ideal opportunity to book the Artspace for a couple of weeks. So while The Art Boat is having a bit of a break, my paintings aren’t.

Barton Marina

Next stop is Barton Marina for the weekend of 1st and 2nd June. I have never stopped here before, so I am looking forward to the whole Marina experience.  I’ll be trading alongside Gordanneus Crafts with their beautiful free-hand routed wooden signs.  I have ordered one for The Art Boat. I can’t wait to see it!

Not my first marina experience as I did pop up at Kings Bromley marina over a month ago, but the wind that weekend made it a very hairy experience.   The awning survived…but only just! Hoping to go back there again sometime in calmer conditions.

Alrewas pop-up?

There are a few weeks free in the Art Boat schedule, so weather permitting an ideal chance to popup at Alrewas.  Probably the weekend of 8th-9th June. My visit to Alrewas was very brief on the way down the Trent and Mersey as I wanted to catch the short river stretch before it went into flood.  Hopefully there will be time to stop, trade and explore on the way back up.

Atherstone Floating Market.

Saturday 22nd June - Sunday 23rd June

The  RCTA Market will be held at the top of the locks.  It’s a while since I’ve stopped here.

The old derelict hat factory was the inspiration for these paintings.  The triptych sold a few years ago, but I’m hoping that I will get some new inspiration when I am there.

Braunston Historic Boat Rally

After a year away, I’ll be exhibiting with The Guild of Waterway Artists at Braunston again.  One of my favourite events of the year as I will be exhibiting with old friends.  I love the chance to show with and be inspired by other Artists. The Boat Rally runs from Saturday 29th June - Sunday 30th June

Coventry Floating Market

Saturday 6th July- Sunday 7th July.

I have never taken the Art Boat to Coventry before. I’ve passed the arm many times but never made the trip.  This Market is going to rectify that.  Hoping to have some time to do a bit of sight-seeing. Any recommendations?

Brinklow Arts Week

An exciting new venture.  A whole 10 days of Arts events at Brinklow Marina. Starting on Saturday 13th July and running right through until Sunday 21st.  Organised by Shiam Wilcox, a fellow artist and the team at Brinklow it promises to be a fabulous event and hopefully will become a regular yearly occurrence .

I will also be running my first ever Gelli Plate printing workshop. I can’t wait to introduce you to this fun printing technique.

That’s it for now.  I’ll be heading back to the Macclesfield canal for the beginning of August and planning a couple of pop-ups on the way there.  I’ll keep you posted with locations nearer the time.

Take care…see you somewhere soon,
