BridgeHole 7. An original acrylic on canvas painting, by Jan Vallance. Square Canvas 8″ x 8″ and 1″ deep in white tray frame. (framed size 9″ x 9″)
The inspiration behind the BridgeHole paintings.
I just love canal bridges, their varying shapes and sizes and the different purposes. They provide a means for traffic, pedestrians, trains, water or livestock to pass over the canal. When I pass through them I get the feeling of leaving one world and entering another. That feeling is enhanced when you see the silhouette of someone passing through.
The painting is varnished for protection with a low sheen varnish.
The paint on this picture is built up in layers. It includes gold paint and my trademark swirls. Unfortunately the gold doesn’t show up very well in the photos. The paint is carried on down the sides of the canvas and because this is framed in a tray frame, the dark sides enhance the look.
